This is one of those stories that not only make you mad, but leave you scratching your head over the stupidity of our leadership. I’m speaking of yesterdays Air Force One New York flyover.

If you haven’t heard about this yet, the White House Military Office made the decision last week to fly one of the other Air Force One jets, along with an F-16 fighter jet, just above the New York City skyline. They wanted to get a “photo op” of the jet just above the Statue of Liberty.

Now that is pretty dumb to begin with, but it gets even better. Federal authorities thought this over and decided they better let the FAA know about and get the ok from them, as well as letting the NYC police dept know about the flyover. BUT…we don’t want to let the public know about it.

Well, you can imagine what happened next. People in the NYC financial district, and those in Jersey City, went into an instant state of panic when seeing this massive jet coming in low over the city.

Some were screaming, “Oh my God, not again”. Others were screaming things that can’t be printed here. You can only think about the terror and just shake your head in disgust that our government would do such a stunt. How many people who witnessed this flyover were also ones that lost loved ones on 9/11? Can you imagine what was going through their minds?

It’s hard to believe that the NYC police went along with this and didn’t say anything. According to a department statement they were told by the FAA to keep quiet. Mayor Bloomberg didn’t even know about it either and if furious over the ordeal. 

There is NO way you can convince me that someone on the administration staff, military, police or others in the know, didn’t suggest that hey…maybe we should let the people know about this flyover because it could cause panic. No way did they not think of this. But they went ahead with it anyway.

Obama is now saying today that it was “a mistake.” Duh! Talk about stating the obvious. How about taking it a step further in the right direction and FIRING the idiot responsible for pushing this through? This was not just a mistake, this was intentional chaos. On the heels of the nightmare of the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and our leaders decide in their infinite wisdom to bring a low flying jet into the same exact area as the original attacks. All for a “photo op”. Just incredible.
