AMC Entertainment, which operates AMC Theaters around the country, has recently announced it will create 1500 3-D screens in its theaters in the U.S. and Canada.
The deal between AMC theaters and RealD was discussed by RealD CEO Michael Lewis. He said, “Audiences are seeking a new and truly engaging form of entertainment.”
RealD will eventually have 8,000 3-D screens when everything is completed.
“Our intent is to feature at least one (3-D) screen in every AMC theater,” AMC CEO Gerry Lopez said.
AMC is based out of Kansas City, MO and has 4,678 screens in 309 movie theaters.
