Today is a sad day for many of us in learning the news of the passing of Michael Crichton. The man who gave us “Jurassic Park” and so many other thrillers was overtaken by cancer. Michael Crichton was only 66 at the time of his death. His battle with the disease was a matter never discussed in public, but he will be missed by many.
His family released a statement to the public saying, “Through his books, Michael Crichton served as an inspiration to students of all ages, challenged scientists in many fields, and illuminated the mysteries of the world in a way we could all understand.”
“While the world knew him as a great storyteller that challenged our preconceived notions about the world around us — and entertained us all while doing so — his wife Sherri, daughter Taylor, family and friends knew Michael Crichton as a devoted husband, loving father and generous friend who inspired each of us to strive to see the wonders of our world through new eyes.”
Some of Michael Crichton’s works include such thrillers like:
The Andromeda Strain
Jurassic Park
Rising Sun
Disclosure
He also co-wrote “Twister” and created the TV hit series “ER”. The man was simply just extremely talented.
In recent years, Crichton was the man behind the film “State of Fear”, which was strongly condemned by environmentalist groups.
