The Texas Attorney General has issued a warning about a new identity theft scam that is targeting Eppicard users, not only in Texas, but in 14 other states as well. What does this mean to you?
Eppicards are used to disburse child support payments to parents everywhere. And in this particular scam an email, or recorded phone message in some cases, is sent out asking you to visit a link in the email and update your account information. Naturally, once you enter in your account information your identity is stolen.
In another aspect of this scam Eppicard users have been asked to complete some sort of online survey. The message goes on to say that if you will complete it you will be given a cash reward. Of course, when completed you are asked for your Eppicard account info to complete the transaction.
Yes, this is one of the oldest email tricks in the world, but it has already been effective in scamming some people already. It goes without saying that you should never open up these emails or click on links when they are unsolicited. You never know when you will be downloading a virus. And never give out your personal info in an email.
If you have received such an email or need further information on your personal account in regards to this scam you should call the Eppicard hotline at 866-729-6159 or go to www.eppicard.com.

Thanks for sharing. It is useful for me.
