Have you heard about the buzz about the Facebook worm? Named the “Koobface”, or just plain Facebook virus, it is attacking the computers of unsuspecting individuals who click on a Facebook link in their accounts.

This latest form of the virus is also being found on other social sites, but Facebook seems to be seeing the worst of it.

What is happening is that users are seeing a message from a supposed friend that invites you to click on a link and watch a video. When you do this, and click on the application to watch the video, you just downloaded the virus. You know what happens next.

Once the worm gets into your computer it also sends the link to your friends to download.

The best tip here is to never go to a link sent through an unsolicited message. You also want to be sure you are running the latest anti-virus software to protect your computer as best as possible.
