A long running tradition on May 1st has always been to give people May Day Baskets. Is this tradition dying, or is it long since dead today?

I can remember making my mother a unique May day basket as a small child. I would gather up some violets, or even a dandelion or two, and make a nice basket with paper ribbons I’d cut out. It really didn’t matter what it looked like, my mother was always so happy with it.

Other people do May baskets in different ways. Some fill small baskets with candy or chocolates and give out to those they love, while others make their own unique baskets to give away.

So, has this become a lost tradition? Do schools even do anything special on May Day anymore? We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
