In a bizzare story, Paula Goodspeed, American Idol contestant who was completely infatuated with Paula Abdul has been found dead outside of Abdul’s Los Angeles home.

People.com is reporting the death as an overdose and suicide, although the exact cause of death has not been confirmed yet.

Los Angeles police captain James Miller said in a statement, “Ms. Goodspeed’s mother had gone to (the sheriff’s department) to report her daughter missing, and advised them that she might be suicidal.”

He goes on to say, “The sheriffs determined that Ms Goodspeed may be up in the vicinity by Paula Abdul’s house. Our officers discovered her vehicle parked on the street, and found her inside. She was unresponsive to officers.”

Goodspeed was a failed contestant who got ripped by the judges for her performance of “Proud Mary”.

Abdul released a statement saying in part, “I am deeply shocked and saddened by what transpired yesterday.”

A tragic story that should have never happened.
