Payless Shoes Hops On The Green Bandwagon

According to a recent statment from Payless Shoes, the company plans to introduce a new line of green shoes. It’s a first for the company and will be made available for women only at first.
The price? Payless says you can expect to pay $30 on average.

It’s interesting to note that Summer Rayne Oakes from the Discovery Network’s Planet Green will be the company’s Eco Consultant. She is considered to be a fashion and beauty expert and will help with any problems along the way.

So, what are the shoes made with? According to Payless they are made with a combination of recycled outsoles, hemp, organic cotton and linen.

The company says the shoes will first be rolled out in 400 of their stores. The other 4,200 stores will begin stocking them in 2009. They also plan to add green shoes for men and children as well.
