In just an absolutely bizarre story, a 62 year old Texas City, TX woman was found on the floor of her home with maggots slowly eating away at her flesh. A local police officer discovered her after someone claiming to be the womans son, called 911.

When the officer arrived he said he was overcome by the smell of feces, and later saw the body of Linda Sainz lying on the floor in a puddle of body fluids. The woman, infested with maggots eating away on her, was thought to be dead. Suddenly, she blinked her eye at the officer and paramedics were rushed in to take her to the hospital. Doctors are saying it will be a miracle if she survives.

The woman had apparently been living in the home with her 38 year old son. She would stay in the home for weeks and months at a time, while her son bought food and took care of things around the house.

In the 911 call, a man claiming to be her son, said his mother had bed sores and needed help. He said the back door would be unlocked. When authorities arrived, the man was not there. The man has not been charged with any crime as of today, but that could change as the investigation continues.

Authorities have said that they believe it had been weeks, or even months, since anyone else other than her son had seen the woman outside the home.
